사이먼과 가펑(Simon And Garfunkel)의 노래 중에서 기타 연주곡으로 빼 놓을 수가 없는 노래가 있죠?

바로 The Boxer이라는 곡입니다.

이 노래는 1969년도에 만들어 진 노래로 실제 권투선수였던 Benn Perat라는 권투선수를 소재로 한 곡이죠.

1970년대 초반부터 이 노래가 본격적으로 알려지기 시작했다고 하는데 그래도 상당히 오래 된 노래네요.
이 곡은 가난한 권투선수의 사망사고 이후 그를 소재로 해서 만들어 진 것이기에

가사 내용 또한 고향으로 돌아가지 못하는 아픔을 노래 하고 있습니다.

 

우리나라도 이런 아픔을 가진 선수가 한명 있었죠?

바로 김득구 선수...

당시 김득구선수의 사망사고 또한 큰 사회적 이슈가 되었었죠.

당시 권투경기의 룰을 바꿔 놓을 정도였으니 말입니다.

한때는 김득구 선수의 이야기를 담은 영화가 유오성 주연으로 나오기도 했었구요.
